The
Coordinated School Health Program for the Trenton Special School District (TSSD) is in the tenth year of operation. Currently,
the Coordinated School Health program (CSH) is serving all three schools located in Trenton. Although
these eight components are listed separately, it is their composite that allows CSH to have significant impact. Since its
inception Coordinated School Health has increased the number of students who received health screenings, such as vision, hearing,
height, weight and blood pressure. We have also increased health and physical education!!
Mission Statement
"The Mission of Coordinated School Health is to improve students' health and their capacity
to learn through the support of families, communities and schools." The mission of TSSD Coordinated School Health is
to provide a coordinated approach to school health initiatives that connects good health practices of staff, students and
families with academic achievement and lifelong wellness. It is our belief that "children need to be healthy to be educated
